Helios Cancer Centers
Cancer is a dreaded diagnosis. The patient and relatives’ lives are thrown into turmoil after this diagnosis. For the doctor it seems a routine day but the lives of the listeners are changed forever.
Coupled with unpredictable outcome, long periods of treatment is the prohibitive cost of treatment. The cost most of times is so high that a Rs 10 lac insurance seems paltry. Most patients end up selling their assets to cough up money for treatment. The newer medications though effective have a serious cost issue.
It has been estimated over 25 % of patients discontinue cancer treatment due to prohibitive costs.
At Helios we appreciate the anxiety and concern of every patient.
Why Helios centers are different.
01
At Helios we administer precise dosage which is extremely necessary to avoid side effects.
02
All administration is done under strict supervision of trained Doctors.
03
All our centers are inside hospitals equipped with ICU facilities. These are not day care centers , which you cannot turn to in case of emergencies.
04
Every cycle comes with a new dosage protocol dependent on the patient’s weight. No bulk dosing for any patient. In last 2 years no patient has been admitted in an ICU due to drug overdose or Toxicity.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy refers to medicines or drugs used to treat cancer. All drugs used to treat cancer work in different ways and at different levels of metabolism in the body. Standard or Traditional chemotherapy uses drugs that are cytotoxic , meaning they can kill tumour cells. Other drugs may inhibit hormone dependent cancers while still others may protect normal tissues during cancer chemotherapy.
There are more than 100 chemotherapy drugs. They target different parts of the cell replicating process. Different drugs are used for different cancers.
